4th ANNUAL TECHNOLOGY BUSINESS CONFERENCE

Entrepreneurship is on the brink of a major breakthrough as Vietnam's information technology industry continues to demonstrate tremendous growth. The number of internet users exceeds 22 million, a penetration rate of over 25%. In 2009, the sector generated US$6.26 billion, accounting for 7% of Vietnam's GDP. Likewise, the digital content industry experienced a dramatic growth rate of 50% with revenue of $700 million. The software industry also had an impressive 40% growth rate with revenue of $880 million. There are over 80 million mobile phone users. Foreign direct investment is on the rise and could double to $15 billion this year. This fall Intel will open a $1 billion chip assembly and test plant near Ho Chi Minh City that, at capacity, will produce as many microchips as all of Intel's factories worldwide. Other leading manufacturers that hold the same optimism for Vietnam include Compal, Foxconn, Olympus and Samsung. The components are in place for those with an inventive mind and a knack for innovation to reach large numbers of consumers in a manner that was previously not possible.

Who will take on a leadership role in this exciting emerging market? Who will take advantage of this shift in consumer interest in technology and content? How will this unprecedented reach to consumers via social media and mobile phones change the way businesses in Vietnam operate and compete? How will industry leaders and investors build a strong foundation to sustain growth and spur investment? How will policy makers unleash the full power of entrepreneurship in a market still burdened by inefficient tax regimes and the absence of a market-oriented stock market, among other obstacles?

This year's 4th Annual Technology Business Conference ("TBC") will consist of 2 days (October 13-14) of provocative and insightful commentary to explore these questions with seasoned executives as well as experienced investors working in Vietnam. It is an ideal event for entrepreneurs, technology enthusiasts, technology companies, bankers, financial executives and other interested professionals to explore how entrepreneurship and innovation in a developing country can spur economic success.
